ISLAMABAD: Pakistani nationals living abroad, especially those in the United Kingdom, have been urged to remain cautious after the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) issued a warning about a fake website operating under its name.

NADRA stated that the fraudulent platform, “NADRA Card Centre,” available at nadra.cardcentre.co.uk, is misleading overseas Pakistanis by pretending to offer official services. The site falsely claims to assist with ID cards, NICOP processing, and even job opportunities.

The authority clarified that the website has no association with NADRA and is unlawfully using its name to trick people. It warned that any personal details shared on such platforms could be misused, putting citizens at risk of identity theft or financial fraud.

NADRA has filed a formal complaint with the National Cyber Crime Agency and requested urgent action against those responsible.

NADRA’s Guidance for Married Citizens

Recently, NADRA also advised married individuals to update their marital status in its records as soon as possible to avoid legal issues later.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the authority noted that many people have registered their marriages with Union Councils but have not updated their information in NADRA’s system.

Citizens have been encouraged to visit the nearest NADRA center to ensure their details are correctly recorded. This update is part of the organization’s effort to maintain accurate and current data.

NADRA has also introduced an SMS service to guide married citizens. For further assistance, individuals can call 1777 (for mobile users), 051-111-786-100, or visit the official website.

Fee and Required Documents

NADRA stated that updating marital status on a CNIC costs Rs100 and is considered an “unprintable alteration.” Applicants must provide relevant documents, such as a marriage certificate or Nikahnama, when submitting the request.
