On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is actively assisting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority in relief operations for flood-affected areas of the province.

Relief supplies have been dispatched to KP by the NDMA, the armed forces, and various welfare organizations. On Monday, a consignment was sent to Buner carrying tents, blankets, 7KVA generators, de-watering pumps, ration bags, and medicines.

These items will be handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of Buner for distribution among the victims. NDMA is closely monitoring all ongoing relief activities carried out by different agencies.

According to NDMA, at least 657 people have lost their lives and 929 others have been injured in rain-related incidents across Pakistan since June 26. Among the dead are 392 men, 171 children, and 94 women, while the injured include 437 men, 256 children, and 236 women.

The casualties have been linked to torrential monsoon rains, flash floods, and related disasters. NDMA said it is coordinating with provincial authorities to strengthen relief and rescue efforts in the hardest-hit regions.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has suffered the most severe losses, with 390 deaths reported, including 288 men, 59 children, and 43 women. The province has also recorded 245 injuries, comprising 161 men, 45 children, and 39 women.
