The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced summer vacations for schools and colleges in the plain areas of the province from May 22 to August 31, 2026.
According to education department sources, the holidays were earlier planned to start on June 1. However, since May 22, 23, and 24 fall on regular weekly holidays, and schools would reopen only briefly on May 25 and 26 before Eid ul Adha holidays begin on May 27 and continue until May 31, the authorities decided to advance the schedule.
Officials said the earlier notification regarding summer vacations in both plain and extremely cold mountainous regions of the province will remain unchanged.

They added that in the colder mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, summer vacations will be observed from July 1 to July 31, 2026.
