The Islamabad district administration has released a notification declaring some of the main recreational spots in the federal capital as family only parks for a short period during the Eid ul Fitr holidays.
This step has been taken to make public spaces more convenient and to provide a safe and pleasant atmosphere for families planning outings during the festive days.
As per the notification, Shakarparian National Park, Lake View Park and Daman e Koh Park will be treated as Family Parks from 20 March 2026 to 23 March 2026.
Entry to these locations will be controlled during this time to help maintain a family friendly setting and to handle the large number of visitors expected during the Eid holidays.
The administration explained that families usually visit parks and leisure spots in big numbers during Eid, and the temporary arrangement is meant to make their visits easier and more comfortable.

Officials also expressed the view that the measure will support better crowd management, strengthen security arrangements and create a more relaxed environment for women, children and elderly visitors.
The notification added that the order has been issued with the approval of the District Magistrate ICT Islamabad. All relevant departments have been instructed to ensure full enforcement of the decision during the mentioned dates. Visitors have also been urged to cooperate with park authorities and security staff to avoid any inconvenience.
