Government schools in the colder areas of Balochistan will stay closed for two and a half months from December 16 as part of the province’s yearly winter break, which is extended each year to keep students safe from harsh weather.
In Chaman, exams for junior classes have already begun. The Education Department said tests for students from class one to seven started on November 16 and will continue until November 24, while class 8 exams under the Balochistan Board will begin on November 24.
Punjab has also announced its winter holidays, with schools closing from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026. Classes will resume on January 12.
Both provinces have instructed school administrations to complete all exams and academic tasks before the holidays begin.
