Karachi weather: Light to moderate showers expected from tomorrow

Karachi is expected to receive light to moderate rain starting tomorrow (Friday) as the third phase of the monsoon sets in, according to a report quoting the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The PMD shared that the port city will see cloudy and humid conditions throughout the day, with chances of light drizzle at night.

Temperatures are likely to peak around 35 degrees Celsius, while humidity currently stands at 69 percent. Winds are blowing from the southwest at 11 kilometers per hour.

Elsewhere in the country, rain, wind, and thunderstorms are forecast for most areas in Kashmir, Islamabad, the Potohar region, northeastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan over the next twelve hours. Some places may even experience scattered heavy and very heavy rainfall.

Isolated rain, wind, and thunder activity are also expected in parts of central and southern Punjab, along with northeast and southern Balochistan.

Morning temperatures recorded in major cities were: Islamabad and Quetta at twenty-four degrees, Lahore at twenty-eight, Karachi at thirty, Peshawar at twenty-six, Gilgit at eighteen, Murree at fourteen, and Muzaffarabad at twenty-three degrees Celsius.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, weather is expected to remain cloudy with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms in areas including Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula.

Morning temperatures there were: Srinagar eighteen, Jammu twenty-eight, Leh eleven, Pulwama and Anantnag seventeen, Shopian sixteen, and Baramula twenty-one degrees Celsius.
