Major fire at Karachi chemical plant, no casualties reported

A fire broke out at a chemical factory near Valika Chowrangi in Karachi’s SITE industrial area on Tuesday, triggering a swift response from emergency services.

Rescue 1122 and fire brigade teams rushed to the scene soon after the incident was reported. Officials said efforts began immediately to bring the flames under control and stop the fire from spreading to nearby factories in the industrial zone.

According to Rescue 1122, firefighting vehicles and rescue personnel were dispatched without delay. Teams continued working to extinguish the blaze and secure the surrounding area.

Personnel of the Sindh Rangers also arrived at the site and assisted in the rescue and relief operation alongside firefighters.

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab took notice of the incident and instructed KMC departments to remain on alert and utilise all available resources. The water board was directed to take emergency measures to facilitate firefighting operations.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah ordered the mayor and commissioner to supervise the operation and determine the cause of the fire.

No casualties have been reported so far, while cooling work at the factory is still underway.
