Federal board introduces new syllabus for matric, intermediate classes

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has officially introduced a new syllabus, replacing the old one for all matriculation and intermediate classes under its jurisdiction.

According to the board’s notification, the updated syllabus takes effect immediately, and educational institutions have been instructed to download it from the FBISE website and implement it accordingly.

The board stated that the revised curriculum has been developed to meet modern academic standards and will be adopted by all schools and colleges affiliated with the Federal Board nationwide.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s focus on promoting the IT sector and increasing related exports. He directed provinces to collaborate on ensuring high-quality and standardized IT education and training.

The Prime Minister also called for IT to be introduced as a subject from grade six and for specialized training programs to be launched in Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Balochistan.

Officials briefed the meeting that internet connectivity in Islamabad’s schools is currently being upgraded to support these educational initiatives.
