Islamabad reported 25 new dengue cases in the last 24 hours, raising the total to 458, health officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to the District Health Officer (DHO), 21 patients have been admitted to hospitals, while four are recovering in home isolation. The figure matches the previous day’s count, showing a steady rise in infections across the city.

Both rural and urban areas remain affected, with 13 cases each. Bhara Kahu recorded the highest with six, followed by Rawat and Ali Pur with three each. In urban sectors, two cases each were reported in G-5, G-6, F-6, G-7, and F-10, while single cases came from G-11, E-11, H-9, F-13, G-9, and Tarlai-II.

Health teams have ramped up surveillance and fumigation drives. In the past 24 hours, 343 sites were checked, 14 declared high-risk “hotspots,” and fogging was carried out in 133 areas. Authorities also took strict action against businesses that ignored safety measures.

Officials said the anti-dengue campaign will continue with full intensity and urged citizens to cooperate by keeping their surroundings clean, eliminating stagnant water, and seeking timely treatment for symptoms.
