Karachi likely to receive rain from July 18, says PMD

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall in Karachi starting from July 18, according to the report.

At present, the weather in the city is partly cloudy and humid, with the sea breeze returning across various areas. Today’s temperature is expected to rise to 35°C.

According to the PMD, a rain system is likely to begin impacting Karachi from the evening of July 18, with moderate to heavy showers expected on July 19 and 20.

Rain is also expected in several regions across the country between July 15 and 17, as the current weather system continues its movement from the northern parts toward Sindh.

Other districts in Sindh are also expected to experience rainfall due to this system. Residents are advised to stay informed through official updates and take safety measures as needed.

In the meantime, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are likely to affect many parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and the northeastern and southern areas of Balochistan over the next twelve hours.

Morning temperatures in major cities were recorded as follows: Islamabad 25°C, Lahore 26°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 27°C, Quetta and Muzaffarabad 23°C, Gilgit 21°C, and Murree 15°C.

As for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the forecast suggests partly cloudy conditions with a chance of rain and thunderstorms in areas such as Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Jammu.

Today’s temperatures in those regions were recorded at: Srinagar, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula 17°C, Jammu 26°C, Leh 12°C, and Pulwama 16°C.
