A weather system bringing clouds and light winds from the west entered Pakistan on Sunday, causing rainfall in several parts of Punjab, including Lahore.

Rain has been reported in districts across southern, central, and upper Punjab, creating pleasant conditions and lowering temperatures.

In Lahore, rain that started late at night along with cool winds, improved the weather and offered relief to residents.

The managing director of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) said officers and staff have been placed on alert to ensure proper drainage during the expected rainfall.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department said more rain is expected today and tomorrow. Officials added that after a short break, another weather system is likely to enter the country.

According to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan, dry weather is expected in most parts of the country over the next 12 hours.

However, rain and wind accompanied by thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Wind and hail are also possible at some locations during this period.

Temperatures recorded this morning in major cities were: Islamabad 16°C, Lahore 22°C, Karachi 25°C, Peshawar 19°C, Quetta 10°C, Gilgit 12°C, Murree 8°C, and Muzaffarabad 15°C.
