Sindh educational boards will introduce e-marking for matric examinations in 2026, as reported on Sunday.

According to the report, submission of examination forms for classes 9 and 10 will begin soon, and the boards announced that the examination system will see changes next year.

Under the new plan, two to three papers of the annual examinations for classes 9 and 10 will be marked using the e-marking system. The Federal Board has already provided e-marking software to the Department of Universities and Boards to support this process.

Additionally, two to three papers of the intermediate annual examinations will also be checked through e-marking next year across the Sindh boards.

Heads of the educational boards described the provision of technology and software by the Federal Board as a major step toward transparency in examinations.

Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director of the Inter Board Coordination Committee, Islamabad, said that both the examination process and the checking of answer sheets would be carried out through IT-based e-marking.

It is worth noting that in 2025, the Mathematics paper for classes 9 and 10 was already conducted using the e-marking system.
