Flour prices have risen in several cities across Pakistan, making roti more expensive and adding to the financial difficulties of households already facing high living costs.
In Faisalabad, the price of flour has increased by Rs10 to Rs170 per kilogram. Consumers have urged the government to take immediate steps to bring prices under control and ensure an adequate supply of flour at affordable rates.
In Quetta, the price of a 50-kilogram flour bag has reportedly reached Rs8,000. The increase has prompted tandoor owners to raise the price of roti to Rs60. The higher rates have caused concern among residents, many of whom depend on freshly baked bread as part of their daily meals.
In Lahore, wheat is reportedly being sold at Rs5,450 per maund (40 kilograms), while a 15-kilogram bag of flour costs Rs2,350. Chakki flour is available at Rs190 per kilogram, putting further pressure on household expenses.

The continued rise in wheat and flour prices has raised concerns about the affordability of basic food items, particularly for low-income families. Consumers have called on the authorities to improve market supplies, control prices and take action against hoarding and overcharging.
Flour remains a staple food for millions of people across Pakistan. If prices continue to rise, families may face further financial difficulties as the cost of essential food items continues to weigh on household budgets.
