Light rain and thunderstorms expected in several regions across Pakistan

The Met Office has forecast that a shallow westerly wave is likely to reach the western parts of the country on 16th February.

As this weather system moves in:

Light to moderate rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chaghi, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Noushki, Harnai, Zhob, Kalat, Mustung, Bar Khan, Sibbi, Loralai, Khuzdar, Kech, Turbat, Panjgur, Gawadar, Awaran, Kharan, Pasni, Ormara, and Lasbella from the evening or night of 16th February through 17th February, with occasional gaps.

On 17th February, similar conditions are expected in Dadu, Hyderabad, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Shukur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Khairpur. Gusty and dust-raising winds are likely in these areas during this period.

Light to moderate rain, wind, and thunderstorms are also forecast in Waziristan, Bannu, D.I. Khan, and Kurram on the night of 16th and through 17th February.

Isolated places including D.G. Khan, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Bahawalpur, and surrounding areas may experience light rain or drizzle along with gusty and dust-raising winds on 17th February.

Hailstorms are also expected in northern Balochistan, D.I. Khan, and D.G. Khan during this period. Farmers are advised to make necessary arrangements to protect their crops during the forecast period.
