The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light rain and drizzle in Karachi over the next three days, with the sea breeze expected to stay active and help reduce humidity.

The PMD’s Early Warning Centre said the city would see partly cloudy skies and humid conditions, with daytime temperatures ranging between 31°C and 33°C. Light showers are likely in different parts of Karachi during this period.

While Karachi will continue to receive relief from the sea breeze, other parts of Sindh are expected to remain hot and humid, though the eastern coastal belt may see brief rainfall.

The forecast follows weeks of destructive monsoon rains that left more than 16 people dead in August due to wall collapses, electrocution, and drowning incidents.

Just last week, another heavy spell claimed at least five lives, flooded neighbourhoods, and forced rescue teams, including the army, to evacuate over 400 stranded residents.

The rains also caused Thado Dam in Gadap Town to overflow, submerging parts of the M-9 Motorway and nearby localities like Scheme 33, where floodwaters entered streets and homes, leaving families in distress.
