Lahore Traffic Police has announced a special traffic plan for August 13 and 14 as the city prepares for Independence Day celebrations, with fireworks scheduled at five different locations.
Fireworks will be held at Greater Iqbal Park, Dolmen Mall Defence, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Adda Plot and Liberty Market. Musical programs are also planned at Liberty Market and H Block in Defence Phase 6.
The traffic police have deployed personnel across the city under the supervision of three senior superintendents of police, 16 deputy superintendents of police and 500 traffic inspectors.
Special checkpoints will be established at 62 locations to control traffic and prevent wheelie riding, hooliganism and other activities that could cause disruption on the roads.

Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said authorities would not tolerate road blockages, road rage or any activity that disrupts traffic. The traffic police have asked citizens to celebrate Independence Day responsibly, attend the planned events and follow traffic rules.
