Islamabad has officially launched its second anti-polio campaign of 2026. The four-day drive begins today and will continue until April 16. Health teams will carry out door-to-door visits for three days, while the last day will be used to vaccinate children who may have been missed earlier.

Officials have set a goal to vaccinate 447,614 children in Islamabad during this campaign. Assistant commissioners reviewed the start of the drive by joining morning meetings with frontline workers. These teams are working to visit every home so that children across the city can be covered.

Special vaccination camps have also been set up at hospitals, schools, and other public locations. DC Islamabad Irfan Memon said that workers will reach every household as part of this campaign. He appealed to citizens to fully support the mobile teams so that children can be protected from the virus.

Irfan Memon highlighted that cooperation from the public plays a major role in wiping out the disease. The district administration remains focused on making Pakistan free from polio through this well-planned campaign. Health officials have advised parents to make sure their children receive the protective drops either at home or at nearby vaccination points.
