Authorities have temporarily stopped the Metro Bus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad today because of Al-Quds Day rallies taking place across the twin cities. Officials explained that the step was taken in view of security concerns and to protect both citizens and those participating in the demonstrations.
According to the schedule, two major rallies will be held. One procession will begin from Darbar Sakhi Mahmood, while the second will start at Imam Bargah Ashiq Hussain in Teli Mohalla and move towards Murree Road. Authorities have cautioned that traffic on key roads is likely to remain disrupted during the marches.
Police and other law enforcement agencies have increased their presence in sensitive locations. Security checks along the rally routes have been strengthened, and special plans have been put in place to manage crowds and maintain order.
Residents have been advised to limit non-essential travel and choose alternate routes to avoid delays. Commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys and keep extra time in mind when heading to their destinations.
