ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has revised the schedule for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 due to the flood situation in parts of Punjab and Sindh.

The council said the decision was made after considering the difficulties faced by students in affected regions and in consultation with universities from across the provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

New MDCAT Date

The exam, earlier set for October 5, 2025, will now be held on Sunday, October 26. Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal said the change was made in the best interest of students and reflects the government’s commitment to equal educational opportunities nationwide.

Earlier, PMDC introduced a digital question bank for MDCAT 2025 as part of wider reforms to improve transparency.

PMDC President Professor Dr. Rizwan Taj stated that the Council will handle student registration and monitoring, while universities will prepare question papers, conduct exams, and verify results to ensure fairness.

The new question bank is based on a consensus syllabus approved by all provinces. This step is designed to prevent errors, address regional issues, and provide students with equal preparation opportunities.
