On the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has sent another consignment of relief goods for Palestine, as reported on Thursday.
The shipment, weighing 100 tons, included dates, flour, rice and cooking oil. It was dispatched via a chartered flight from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to Egypt for onward delivery to Gaza.
With this latest consignment, the total humanitarian aid sent to Palestine through 29 shipments has reached 2,827 seven tons.
The sending-off ceremony was attended by senior officials from the NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives from other relevant government departments.
βThe people of Pakistan stand firmly with the people of Palestine in this difficult time and will continue every possible effort to support them and address their humanitarian needs,β officials said.
