The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has released the official schedule for the Grade 8 Examination 2026 across Punjab.

According to the announcement, the examinations will take place during the first or second week of March 2026. The exams will follow a uniform assessment system designed to maintain equal evaluation standards and improve learning outcomes throughout the province.

All Chief Executive Officers and District Education Authorities have been instructed to assign supervisory staff according to designated responsibilities.

Resident Inspectors will serve as heads or deputy heads of examination centers. Superintendents will be appointed from government school teachers including SST, Headmasters, or equivalent staff of Grade 16 and above who are not posted at the exam centers.

Test Administrators will be selected from government school teachers, such as PST and EST, who are not part of the same cluster. In addition, one Class IV staff member will be assigned to each center that accommodates up to 300 students.

Authorities have directed that staff deployment must be completed through the online system, and full data entry is compulsory.

Superintendents and Test Administrators are not allowed to supervise their own schools or centers. Staff members whose relatives or students are appearing in the exams will also not be eligible in order to prevent any conflict of interest.

The guidelines also state that one Test Administrator will be appointed for every 40 students in each examination hall or room. Female staff members will preferably be assigned to supervise female students.

To strengthen monitoring and transparency, Android devices will be used for barcode scanning at examination centers. This process will be handled by Tehsil Focal Persons, Center Superintendents, and Resident Inspectors.

A backup pool of trained staff will also be prepared to handle unexpected absences. Any replacement staff must have completed the required training before being assigned.

The final date for completing the deployment of supervisory staff is 14 February 2026. PECTAA stated that these arrangements aim to maintain fairness, accountability, and smooth management of the Grade 8 board examinations throughout Punjab.
