Gold prices saw a sharp rise in the local market on Monday, with the rate of 24 karat gold per tola climbing by Rs7,700 to reach Rs480,962. The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs6,602, settling at Rs412,347, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The price of 10 grams of 22 karat gold went up by Rs6,052 to Rs377,998. Silver rates followed the same upward trend, as 24 karat silver per tola rose by Rs430 to Rs8,895, while 10 grams of silver increased by Rs369 to Rs7,626.
In the international market, gold advanced by $77 to trade at $4,586 per ounce. Silver prices also moved higher, gaining $4.30 to reach $84.20 per ounce, the association reported.
