The Punjab government has announced summer vacations for all schools across the province, scheduled from 22 May to 24 August.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed the decision through a social media post, stating that the extended break has been approved due to rising temperatures in the region.
The holidays will be observed in all schools across Punjab, with the aim of protecting students from the extreme summer heat and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Earlier, the minister had clarified the government’s stance on the Friday school holiday, saying it will not be made permanent and will end in the coming weeks.

He also mentioned that the provincial government is in talks with the federal government regarding its withdrawal.
Regarding reports about possible changes to the summer vacation schedule, he said any decision on reducing holidays would be taken after May 15, subject to approval from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
