The district administration has announced that Friday, July 11 will be observed as a public holiday across Vehari in honor of the annual Urs of Baba Haji Sher Diwan, a revered Sufi saint known for his spiritual influence.

According to an official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Imrana Tauqeer, all government offices in the district will remain closed on that day.

However, the holiday will not apply to ongoing examinations being held by educational boards and universities, which will proceed as scheduled.

The decision aims to make it easier for the large number of devotees expected to attend the Urs, which includes religious gatherings, spiritual sessions, and cultural events.

People from different parts of Punjab and other regions participate in the celebrations, making it one of the most significant events of the year for the area.

Essential services such as healthcare, sanitation, security, and emergency response will continue to operate as usual to ensure that arrangements run smoothly throughout the festivities.

Authorities have directed all concerned departments to take necessary steps for crowd control, public safety, and other logistical needs to support the large gatherings during the Urs.
