Pakistan is preparing for another strong spell of monsoon weather from July 10 to 12, with heavy rain and thunderstorms expected across several regions, including Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Kashmir.

Weather officials have cautioned that these showers could lead to flash floods and landslides, particularly in the hilly and northern areas of the country.

Urban flooding is also a concern for major cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, especially in low-lying neighborhoods where drainage systems are often overwhelmed.

Over the last ten days, earlier monsoon rains have already taken a toll, leaving at least 72 people dead and more than 130 injured, according to official figures. With the rains set to continue, the threat of further loss and damage remains high.

In parts of northern Punjab and Balochistan, local authorities are keeping watch for potential road closures and landslides.

Travelers are being urged to check weather updates and road conditions before heading out, as the downpour could cause serious travel disruptions.

On the other hand, Gilgit-Baltistan is dealing with an intense heatwave, with temperatures hitting 45°C in Chilas. Health officials are advising residents to stay hydrated and take steps to avoid heatstroke.

People are strongly encouraged to keep an eye on official weather updates, avoid going out unnecessarily in high-risk areas, and follow all safety instructions from local authorities.
