Punjab authorities have announced strict action ahead of Eid ul Adha and warned citizens against throwing animal waste and remains in public areas.

The provincial government has imposed an Rs50,000 fine, along with legal action, on anyone found disposing of sacrificial waste on roads, in drains, or in other public places.

The decision was announced during Local Government Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian’s visit to the headquarters of the Suthra Punjab Authority, where he chaired a meeting to review Eid sanitation arrangements with Director General Babar Sahib Din.

Managing directors of district-level Suthra Punjab agencies from across the province attended the meeting through video link, where detailed instructions were issued for the cleanliness campaign.

Officials were directed to prepare separate sanitation plans for every tehsil. The secretary also instructed authorities to arrange additional workers and machinery to ensure the quick collection and disposal of waste throughout the Eid holidays.

Departments concerned were further asked to complete inspections and fitness checks of waste collection points, dumpers, and operational machinery before Eid.

Special cleanliness measures have also been planned for mosques, Eidgahs, and cattle markets, where large gatherings are expected during the festive days.

Officials said a modern central control room has already been set up to monitor sanitation activities across Punjab. Suthra Punjab teams will remain active in the field around the clock for 72 hours during Eid ul Adha.

Shakeel Ahmad Mian stressed that emergency response teams and backup machinery would stay available in every tehsil. He made it clear that authorities would show zero tolerance for negligence in the Eid cleanliness campaign.
