Gold prices saw a significant jump on Wednesday, with the rate for 24 karat gold rising by Rs2,900 per tola.
It was sold at Rs362,200 compared to Rs359,300 a day earlier, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.
With this increase, the price is now just below the record high of Rs364,900 per tola, which was reached late last month.
Similarly, the price for 10 grams of 24 karat gold also went up by Rs2,487, now standing at Rs310,528, up from Rs308,041.
On the global front, gold prices moved upward as well. The international rate reached $3,395 per ounce, including a premium of $20, reflecting a rise of $29, as reported by APGJSA.
Silver prices also climbed. The cost per tola increased by Rs49, bringing it to Rs4,059.
