Islamabad announces relief for motorcycle owners

The Islamabad Excise Department has waived the motorcycle transfer fee to make it easier for citizens to benefit from the government’s petrol subsidy program.

This step is meant to ensure that relief reaches those who qualify, especially individuals whose motorcycles are still registered under someone else’s name.

Director General Excise Irfan Memon said that citizens can now transfer motorcycle ownership without paying any charges at the Excise Office in Islamabad.

He explained that the purpose of this decision is to remove hurdles that might stop people from taking advantage of the subsidy.

With a rise in expected applications, the department has decided to keep its offices open around the clock. Extra counters have also been added to speed up the transfer process and help reduce waiting times for applicants.
