The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has uncovered a fake cold drink factory near Faizpur Interchange, arresting two people and seizing a large quantity of adulterated beverages and production equipment.

According to a PFA spokesperson, the vigilance team raided the site and recovered 25,800 liters of ready-to-drink beverages, 200 ready-to-eat packets, and 1,150 liters of syrup being produced without official licenses or approvals.

The team also destroyed 120 kg of bottle caps, 150 kg of labels, 2,700 bottles, and 450 kg of flavoring materials on the spot.

In addition, 10 drums, empty bottles, filling machines, cylinders, pumps, coolers, and weighing machines were confiscated. Two cases have been registered against the factory owner.

The PFA Director General said the facility was operating without authorization and under unhygienic conditions, with raw materials stored on the floor and contaminated with fungus. He warned that consuming such counterfeit drinks poses serious health risks, including potential kidney and liver damage.
