Rawalpindi observes Eid Milad-un-Nabi under tight security

Eid Milad-un-Nabi is being observed in Rawalpindi with full devotion, as committees finalize arrangements and authorities enforce strict security measures for the main procession.

Over 6,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed across the city, with walk-through gates and body searches set up at procession entry points.

Security has been arranged not only for the main procession but also for 105 others across Rawalpindi. Police mobiles, Elite Force teams, Dolphin Force, and Muhafiz Force are patrolling designated areas to maintain law and order.

The main procession will pass through Banni Chowk, Circular Road, Waris Khan, Murree Road, Committee Chowk, Iqbal Road, Bohar Bazaar, Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazaar, and Ding Khoi Chowk, ending at Jamia Masjid Road.

Roads and streets along the route will remain sealed, while over 530 traffic officers have been assigned duties for smooth traffic flow. More than 2,400 personnel are deployed for the main procession alone.

CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani said participants will be allowed entry only through designated points, with monitoring carried out via Safe City cameras and other surveillance systems. Snipers have also been positioned on rooftops as an added security measure.

Vice President of the Milad Committee, Hafiz Hassan Fareed,i shared that the main procession will be inaugurated at 11 am outside Jamia Masjid, attended by district administration officials, Milad Committee members, scholars, and religious leaders.

He added that music-based Naat groups and heavy vehicles have been banned from the event. Meanwhile, the Cantt Milad Committee’s main procession will begin at 10 am from Chungi No. 22 Chowk on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah on Eid Milad-un-Nabi. Both leaders urged people to shape their lives according to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The Prime Minister called for unity, empathy, and harmony while rejecting prejudice, sectarianism, extremism, and hatred.

Milad gatherings are being organized at both government and private levels, with Naat reciters paying tribute to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
