Rs1.6 billion worth of kites and strings sold in Lahore in five days

During the Basant celebrations in Lahore, people spent more thanRs1.6 billion on kites and kite strings over five days. The festival saw strong participation, with a large number of kite-related items being sold across the city.

Advocate Malik Faizan Ahmed, who serves as the Legal Advisor of the Kite Flying Association, shared that on the fifth day alone, more than 200,000 kites and kite strings were sold along with over 4,000 kite reels.

He explained that a one-and-a-half spool kite was sold for Rs1,000, while a single spool cost Rs600 and a half spool was priced at Rs350. He also mentioned that a two-piece kite reel was available in the market for between Rs12,000 and Rs15,000.

Malik Faizan Ahmed further noted that although kite prices went up on the fifth day, the supply in the market remained steady.

According to him, sales on the first day reached Rs160 million, followed by Rs180 million on the second day and Rs200 million on the third day. Sales then rose significantly to over Rs680 million on the fourth day and crossed Rs380 million on the fifth day.
