Sindh district to observe local holiday on November 17

Shaheed Benazirabad Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani has announced a local holiday in the district on November 17, 2025 (Monday) in connection with the 754th annual Urs of Syed Asghar Ali Shah, popularly known as Sakhi Jam Datar.

As per an official notification issued by the district administration, all government offices, educational institutions, and public departments in the district will remain closed on the day.

The three-day Urs celebrations will take place in Jam Sahib town from November 17 to November 19, drawing devotees and visitors from across Sindh and other parts of the country.

The Urs of Sakhi Jam Datar is one of the region’s most significant spiritual events, featuring religious rituals, Sufi music, and communal meals. Local authorities have completed security and administrative arrangements to ensure peaceful and well-organized celebrations.
