The Sindh government launched a crackdown on petrol pumps in Karachi on Wednesday to take strict action against stations that do not provide full fuel quantities to consumers.
Officials said the operation targets fuel stations in District East and District South to protect the public from being short-changed.
The Department of Price and Dispatch instructed its director general and controller to conduct surprise inspections. Teams are to secretly measure petrol and diesel at various stations and ensure customers are receiving the correct amount using specialized measuring equipment.
Petrol pumps found cheating customers will face immediate fines, and their outlets will be sealed on the spot.
