PESHAWAR: Several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced rain and hailstorms after a spell of dry weather, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures, according to the report on Tuesday.
In Swat, rain and hail turned the weather colder and covered the valley in white, while Lower Dir also saw heavy showers and hail carpeting the area. Upper Dir witnessed dark clouds, rain, and chilly winds, further intensifying the cold.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a westerly wave reached the upper parts of the country on November 3 and is expected to persist until November 5.
The Met Office predicted rain and snowfall over the mountains in several areas, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as regions of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Daytime temperatures are expected to drop sharply during the wet spell, with nights turning colder afterwards. The rainfall is also likely to temporarily reduce fog and smog, which may return once the weather clears.
