Six people lost their lives, and five others were injured when the roof of a house collapsed late Saturday night in the Shabqadar area of Charsadda district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The incident occurred in Shabqadar Khairabad, where guests had gathered at a house to attend a wedding. During the night, the rooftop gave way, trapping those inside and causing multiple fatalities. Among the deceased were women.

Police and rescue teams reached the scene soon after the collapse and began relief work. The bodies and the injured were pulled out from the debris and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

In a separate earlier incident, at least seven people, including five children, were killed and several others injured when the roof of a private academy collapsed in Sukheke town near Pindi Bhattian.

Rescue teams carried out search operations at the site and recovered bodies from the rubble, while the injured were shifted to the hospital for medical care.
