The Islamabad Food Authority has introduced new rules for restaurants and food outlets to improve hygiene and ensure food safety across the city.

According to the updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), chefs and waiters must wear caps, and all food handlers are required to use safety caps while on duty. The measure is aimed at maintaining cleanliness and preventing food contamination.

Officials warned that any restaurant or eatery found violating these regulations will be sealed immediately. The authority emphasized that enforcing the cap rule is part of a broader initiative to promote public health and hygienic food practices.

Citizens have also been urged to report food outlets where staff members are not following the guidelines.

The Director of the Food Authority has ordered inspection teams to conduct regular and surprise visits across Islamabad to check compliance. He said strict action will be taken against violators and called on the public to cooperate by identifying non-compliant food establishments.
