Gold price in Pakistan records sharpest rise in weeks

The price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs6,100 on Saturday, reaching Rs359,000 per tola, up from Rs352,900 a day earlier, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association.

Over the period from July 24 to August 1, gold prices had dropped by Rs12,000 per tola.

Alongside, the rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs5,229, now priced at Rs307,784, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold went up to Rs282,145 from Rs277,342.

Silver prices also moved upward, with per tola rising by Rs53 to Rs3,9530, and 10 grams increasing by Rs45 to Rs3,389.

On the global front, gold climbed by $61, trading at $3,363 per ounce compared to the previous $3,302, while silver gained $0.53, reaching $37.01 from $36.57.
