The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation has temporarily suspended water supply to four union councils in Lyari Town after a leak was detected in a 24-inch water transmission pipeline serving the area.

A KWSC spokesperson said engineering and technical teams reached the site soon after the issue was reported. Emergency repair work started immediately once the damaged section of the pipeline was located.

The corporation expects the repair work to be completed within 36 to 48 hours. Water supply to the affected areas will then be restored in phases.

According to the spokesperson, only Union Councils 9, 10, 11 and 12 have been affected, while the rest of Lyari Town continues to receive water without interruption.
