Eleven children have lost their lives to pneumonia in Landi Kotal over the past month, while more than 200 people have been brought to a local hospital as the illness continues to spread rapidly.
According to a report on Tuesday, the extreme cold following recent snowfall has contributed to the rise in cases.
The situation has become more serious because the hospital lacks proper facilities to treat pneumonia patients. There are also no heating arrangements at the hospital due to 20 hours of power outages.
The children who passed away due to the disease were Ilham, Muhammad Zain, Baseerullah, Hasmia, Irfan, Hamza, Jan Akbar, Ijaz and three others.
