The Punjab government has introduced new winter regulations for school timings, warning of heavy fines for institutions that open before 8:45 AM.

According to ARY News, both public and private schools that violate the directive could face penalties of up to Rs500,000.

The new schedule, part of the province’s winter adjustment plan, will be implemented from November 3, 2025, to January 31, 2026.

Under the revised timings, single-shift schools will operate from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and until 12:30 PM on Fridays.

For double-shift schools, the morning session will follow the same hours as single-shift schools, 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM on Fridays, while the second shift will run from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on weekdays and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Fridays.
