The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has decided to move away from traditional paper marking centres and introduce an online system for checking examination papers.

The new system is expected to make the evaluation process quicker, more convenient and more accurate.

BISE Lahore Chairman Professor Badr-ul-Islam said the on-screen marking system would be introduced from the second annual examinations. Under the new arrangement, examiners will be able to check students’ answer sheets online from their homes rather than travelling to designated marking centres.

According to the chairman, the digital system will help minimise marking errors and save examiners the time and effort required to travel to marking centres. It will also make it easier to deal with complaints related to paper rechecking.

He added that students will also be able to submit their admission forms online, which will make the examination process easier for candidates.

Professor Badr-ul-Islam said better monitoring had contributed to improved Grade 9 results this year. He expressed confidence that the introduction of digital paper checking would further improve the quality and transparency of the examination system.
