The Punjab government has announced Saturday, September 6, 2025, as a public holiday to mark 12th Rabiul Awwal.

As per the notification, all government and private offices, the Civil Secretariat, administrative departments, and OPDs across the province will remain closed on the day.

The holiday is being observed for Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

With Sunday, September 7, already a weekly holiday, people will get an extended two-day break over the weekend.

Each year, Muslims in Pakistan and around the world commemorate 12th Rabiul Awwal with religious gatherings, processions, and recitations. The day falls in the third month of the Islamic calendar and is regarded as one of the most sacred occasions in the Muslim world.
