The Punjab government has announced an Easter bonus and advance salaries for 17,589 Christian sanitation workers under the Suthra Punjab initiative ahead of the upcoming festival.
Officials shared that each worker has received their salary in advance along with a Rs5,000 Easter bonus to support the Christian community during this time. Those benefiting include 16,815 sanitary workers, 600 drivers, 81 supervisors, 48 technical staff and 45 support staff.
At the same time, authorities have started a special cleanliness campaign across the province for Good Friday and Easter. A zero-waste operation is underway, with cleaning and washing work underway at 263 churches.
Sanitation teams are also sweeping and scraping in 81 Christian colonies to help ensure a clean, safe environment for celebrations.

Officials said the initiative is meant to support the Christian community and acknowledge the efforts of sanitation workers during this important religious occasion.
