After reports about the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in recent attacks by the United States and Israel, authorities in Karachi have tightened security across the city. Several key roads have been sealed with containers to control movement.

The bridge linking PIDC Chowk to MT Khan Road has been shut down. MT Khan Road near Sultanabad is also barricaded. In addition, the route from Boat Basin to Mai Kolachi Bypass has been closed. Traffic police confirmed that vehicles cannot move from MT Khan Road toward PIDC Road, and access to Mai Kolachi Road near the railway crossing is restricted.

On Sharae Faisal, traffic from FTC to the Jinnah Hospital turn is not being allowed through. The road connecting FTC to Metropole has also been blocked. Vehicles heading toward FTC are being diverted through Gora Qabristan, where drivers are instructed to take a U-turn toward Saddar.

These closures have led to heavy congestion, with long lines of vehicles on alternate routes. People commuting to work and other destinations are facing delays. Traffic police have advised citizens to avoid the affected areas and follow official directions to reduce inconvenience.

Officials have said the measures are temporary and taken as a precaution to ensure public safety during the current tense situation.
