The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a rain alert for the upper areas of the province from October 5 to October 7, according to the report on Wednesday.
According to a PDMA spokesperson, heavy rainfall is expected in these regions. Director-General Irfan Ali Kathia has instructed all commissioners and deputy commissioners to stay on high alert during this period.
He warned that water levels in rivers, as well as nearby nullahs and drains, are likely to rise. The rain alert has also been shared with the departments of Irrigation, Communication and Local Government, and Livestock.
The Director-General urged the public to take precautionary steps to stay safe during the expected bad weather.
