The government has announced a cut of Rs3 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) for the next two weeks, while keeping petrol prices unchanged.
A notification issued by the Finance Division stated that the new price of HSD is set at Rs269.99 per litre, whereas petrol will continue to be sold at Rs264.61 per litre.
The notification also mentioned a reduction in the price of superior kerosene oil by Rs1.46 per litre, bringing it down to Rs176.81, and light diesel oil by Rs2.40 per litre, now priced at Rs159.76.
In the previous review, the government had lowered diesel by Rs12.84 per litre but kept petrol rates unchanged.
