Pakistani actress and model Nadia Hussain has finally spoken out after the arrest of her husband, Atif Khan, by the FIA. She has alleged that an official demanded a hefty bribe in exchange for her husband’s release.
Nadia confirmed that her husband remains in FIA custody but assured that he is safe and being treated well.
On March 12, she posted a video statement on Instagram, along with chat messages and audio recordings of an individual impersonating an FIA officer.
She claimed that the supposed FIA officer asked for a massive bribe of 30 million rupees to facilitate her husband’s bail, according to Minute Mirror report.
According to leaked screenshots, the scammer told Nadia that all issues regarding her husband, Atif Mohammad Khan, had been settled and instructed her to transfer the money. The caller even tried to pressure her into keeping the conversation confidential.
In her video statement, Nadia Hussain remarked, “Many of you were waiting for my reaction to my husband’s arrest in the FIA fraud case.”
She further stated, “It is a fact that my husband is under FIA custody at present, but only for investigation. If we discuss the case, were the security personnel asleep when such a huge fraud took place under their eyes?”
The model continued, “Now, how much my husband is involved in this matter—whether he is or not—is something time and the court will decide. I have kept quiet on the advice of my legal team. My husband is in custody but is entirely at ease. The FIA is looking after him, and he is safe there.”
Earlier, law enforcement authorities arrested Atif Mohammad Khan, husband of well-known model and actress Nadia Hussain, over allegations of financial misconduct involving a private bank.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials confirmed that a formal complaint led to the registration of a case (FIR No. 9/25) at the Corporate Crime Circle in Karachi, following accusations of financial irregularities amounting to Rs 540 million.
