Here’s what he said:
He explained that strict regulations, such as the prohibition of showing “red blood” in scenes by PEMRA, restrict creative freedom.
Due to these constraints, content creators often produce similar storylines repeatedly to avoid getting banned from television.
With over 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, Deepak Perwani has designed costumes for numerous films and music videos. Deepak recalled a late-night call informing him that the lead actor’s sherwani had been stolen.
He had to provide one of his sherwanis to ensure the shoot continued. He also shared an amusing story from a film set where an actress refused to dance with an actor playing the hero’s cousin.
She insisted on performing only with the lead actor and was willing to alter the script to suit her preference.
Deepak Perwani’s insights highlight Pakistan’s entertainment industry’s challenges and unexpected moments, shedding light on its creative limitations and behind-the-scenes experiences.
